The design innovation besides the larger handle is the wider/longer blade, purposely designed to enable spreading for sandwiches & toast and cutting their food themselves, independently, on the dinner table. Parents can spend time eating not cutting, whilst the children are Safe.
Children of all ages can be included and involved with setting the table, with their Safety Food Kutter, (colour of choice) and it becomes identifiable as their own personal knife.

The NEW Design
The design for the NEW Safety Food Kutter was started with the drawings before COVID set in, and was put on hold due to business closures and the project has been completed in the last 12 months.
The NEW Safety Food Kutter has the Cavity Press Moulds of the original Kiddies Food Kutter (designed in 1979), but to produce an outcome of an overall larger product to accomodate, larger childrens’ hands, special needs, adults and in particular the elderly. The wider blade allows spreading also.
Stainless Steel of the highest grade, dishwasher safe and BPA Free, the quality is guaranteed.

It was always the intention to be an all Australian Made & Owned Company with the Safety Food Peeler, Kiddies Food Kutter & now the NEW Safety Food Kutter.

Both the “Original” Kiddies Food Kutter and the NEW Safety Food Kutter are suitable and safe for use for children 2 years onwards – however, all kids develop at their own pace, so this may differ from child to child. We suggest Adult supervision initially to demonstrate the “Sawing Action”, on a secure chopping board at the correct height up over what they are cutting.
Our safety food cutters and peelers are suitable for tweens, adults, special needs, and the elderly with conditions (like my Mum who had Diabetes) or Arthritis, Low Vision, Parkinsons’ etc.,
With the New design of overall larger size, but still light weight, it is ideal for those with larger hands.
The wider safe blade also allows for spreading perfectly too.
Our kids’ cutlery is very easy to use and completely safe. The Safety Food Kutter is made a little differently from regular food cutters — rounded teeth replace sharp edges along the stainless steel blade. Instead of a slicing motion, this will allow your little chef to gently saw vegetables and fruits on a cutting board. The Safety Food Kutter knife also has a wider blade so it can be use to spread perfectly.
Thanks to some very innovative design, the Safety Food Kutter will cut through any raw or cooked vegetable or fruit. Pumpkin, zucchini, apples, watermelon – you name it! We have also had plenty of customers who rave about the Kiddies Food Kutter & Safety Food Kutter being a useful food utensil for kids while eating their meal.
The Safety Food Food Kutter is completely safe to wash in the dishwasher or by hand. To maintain the quality of the product we suggest avoiding the use of extra hot dishwasher cycles. Now that the Safety Food Kutter has been designed for larger hands, we suggest that children over the age of 2 use the original Kiddies Food Kutter — suitable for smaller hands. As they progress and their hands get larger, they can then move up to the New Safety Food Kutter which is designed exactly the same but overall a bigger size.

Firstly ensure the children are up over what they are beginning to cut, at the correct height, and have a secure chopping board. Show them how to saw with the Safety Knife, ensuring they hold what they are cutting with the other hand. This new Safety Knife is a larger size, so it’s important to show children how to use it safely. Children understandably imitate the adults around them, so if you demonstrate safe habits with the Safety Food Kutter, they’re more likely to practice them moving forward.

How to use the Safety Food Kutter
- Hold the Safety Food Kutter safety knife in either your left or right hand.
- Hold the vegetable firmly in the other hand and use a sawing action to cut. Start the sawing action with soft fruit and vegetables like apple and zucchini to build up confidence and independence, then introduce carrots and harder vegetables.
Adult supervision is still required!
